My Gorgeous New Tatts

Ok, I just have to have a brag blog now. On Tuesday I got two new tattoos done. It was 14 years ago I got my first and only one up to this point, which was a FarSide (Gary Larson comic) cow on my back above my left shoulder blade. Now I have two more beauties to add to the collection.

Now, be aware that these two photos were taken right as each tattoo was finished, so they're a little swollen and bloody. But you have to do that, because after swollen and bloody, they go to crusty and scabby for about two weeks. Then they settle down to the beautiful artworks that they are.

This first one is on my left foot:

And this one is on the inside of my right forearm:

I just love my new ink!

They look great. I can't believe it's been 14 years since your cow one, farout!

Have you tried bepanthen and cling film? No scabs, no crustiness! And healing really, really quickly! I can recommend it...

Oh yes they're all healed now, I got them back in July.

But unfortunately no Bepanthen for me - it contains lanolin and I am allergic.

They're so pretty! I also had a big break between tattoos, my first three were a decade ago!

Is there a story behind the designs? I'd love to know, and the locations?
Sometimes I had designs without knowing where I wanted it and others a location without a design. It's possible I'm just weird though ;)

There is indeed a story behind both designs.

I have a bit of a thing for feet, pretty ones of course, so I find it rather sexy to have my foot tattooed. I chose the lotus because it is a flower that blooms later in life than "normal" flowers do, and also because the seed starts in the mud, and has to work really hard to grow up through the mud and water to the surface to bloom. And they are also representative of the heart, of love and positivity.

I chose the heart and it's location because I am constantly being told I wear my heart on my sleeve. It was an act of self love to get a heart tattooed on my arm - I LIKE that I wear my heart on my sleeve and openly show my feelings.

And in both cases I wanted mega-girlie designs!

I currently have two tatts I know exactly where and what, plus I also have one I know where, but not what, and one I know what, but not where!
